The 2019 F1 World Championship Season Races to a Start

The Silverstone based SportPesa Racing Point Formula 1 Team is ready for the start of the 2019 F1 season. RAVENOL, the squad’s “Official Lubricants Partner” that supplies it with its high-performance products right at the team’s headquarters also is looking forward to a thrilling Formula 1 season.

Following the successful days of testing at Barcelona, with the team’s new single-seater—the RP19—proving to be technically reliable, it comes as no surprise that the expectations regarding the season kick-off in Australia are appropriately high. The entire squad around Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer and Andy Green, Head of Technology, as well as the two drivers Sergio Perez (MEX) and Lance Stroll (CAN), are in cheerful spirits and convinced that they will be able to make a good start into the season and secure good positions in both the drivers’ and the constructors’ championships. At the same time, it’s not only a battle between the drivers and the teams but also between the manufacturers: 10 teams will be powered by the engines of four different manufacturers (Mercedes, Ferrari, Honda and Renault) and will work hard to deliver at the 5.303-kilometre Australian GP circuit where Michel Schumacher still holds one of his numerous records with a fastest lap time of 1:24.125 minutes. Racing Point contests the 2019 season as a Mercedes customer team and relies on the AMG F1 M10 EQ Power+ engine as well as the Mercedes-AMG F1 gearbox.
