Opel Astra TCR to Contest Its Debut Race

In the support program of this year’s ADAC GT Masters weekend, the Opel Astra TCR will make its long awaited racing debut. The tin-top racer specially designed for the race series TCR (Touring Car Racer) will be another highlight for the touring-car series. Following two successful test appearances, Opel Motorsport and their exclusive lubricant partner RAVENOL are very confident and curious to find out how the car will deliver in the tough ADAC TCR Germany competition at the Nürburgring.

Its aerodynamic design is unmistakable – a true eye-catcher. Nonetheless, the 330bhp powerhouse always is close to its production brethren. The highly efficient two-litre turbo engine with code number B20NHT produces a maximum torque of 420Nm. The high-performance engine oil RAVENOL RSS SAE 10W-60, manufactured for modern fuel engines on the basis of esters and Poly Alfa Olefins lubricates the engine perfectly. The power is transferred via the sequential 6-speed racing gearbox Sadev ST82-17, provided by the French gearbox and power-train experts and lubricated with the gearbox oil RAVENOL Racing Gearoil – a gear box oil proven in many years of motor racing and designed on the basis of PAO and a special additivation that will make for a performance-adequate lubrication. Meanwhile, the electronic power steering system, based on the version of Astra K, will be filled with the special hydraulics oil RAVENOL SSF Special Power Steering Fluid that will make for a good wear protection and guarantees outstanding thermal stability at the same time.

The debut of the Opel Astra TCR means that all four brands involved in the series can be witnessed racing together from August: Honda with the Civic TCR, Seat with the Leon Cup Racer, VW with the Golf GTI TCR and of course, the Opel Astra TCR.
