Farnbacher Racing Again Makes for a Surprise

Five years after having caused a major stir by giving Ferrari their first win in the VLN Endurance Championship held at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Team Farnbacher Racing has done it again: in the ninth round of the 2016 VLN season, the Farnbachers made for the next surprise:

Last weekend, in a thrilling race, Dominik and Mario Farnbacher celebrated their first VLN overall race win with the all new Lexus RC-F GT Prototype ‘Next Generation’. In the race, they defeated rivals in other GT cars such as the Porsche 911 GT3 R, Mercedes-AMG GT3, and BMW M6 GT3. This success was not only a debut win for the drivers and Toyota’s premium brand but also the first VLN win ever for an Asian brand! Team Farnbacher racing started the Lexus project in 2015 and the squad has consequently been technically enhancing the car since then – inter alia in the lubricant area, with RAVENOL as technology partner.

The Lexus RC-F GT3: the predecessor of the ‘Next Generation’ vehicle is equipped with a Toyota engine bearing the code number 2UR-GSE that is lubricated with the racing oil RAVENOL RSS SAE 10W-60. In addition to the very good detergent and dispersing properties, the special racing oil manufactured on the basis of advanced additives also features the rating ‘nürburgring tested’. At the same time, the gearbox oil ‘RAVENOL Racing Gearoil’ in the six-speed gearbox EMCO GEAR INC. 46P1 guarantees the optimum viscosity-temperature characteristics – even in the gruelling conditions represented by endurance racing.

With 10 races per season, the VLN is a true permanent Nürburgring success. And RAVENOL is not only partner of Team Farnbacher Racing that contested all the rounds of the 2016 VLN season to date but also of the Nürburgring and the Nürburgring Driving Academy. The Nürburgring Driving Academy provides driver-training courses and driving adventures at the Nürburgring. RAVENOL as lubricant partner supplies the academy with an impressive range of RAVENOL products – from engine, gearbox and hydraulics oils through coolants, winter products, greases and additives to cleaners and car-care products.
